At 586 metres long, the Tibetan Bridge of Castelsaraceno holds a world record: it is the longest single-span Tibetan bridge on the planet. An extraordinary feat of engineering, it is not only a challenge to gravity but also a powerful symbol of connection: suspended between heaven and earth, it links the Lucanian Apennines Val d'Agri Lagonegrese National Park to the Pollino National Park, crossing one of the wildest and most evocative landscapes in Basilicata.

Crossing it means taking 1,160 steps in the void, at a height of about 80 metres, with a view that sweeps freely over valleys, woods and mountain ridges. An intense but accessible experience, capable of offering authentic emotions to those who love nature, silence and great views. Each step invites you to slow down, breathe deeply and let yourself be surprised by a new perspective on the Lucanian hinterland, still largely unexplored and surprisingly unspoilt.

The bridge starts from the oldest part of Castelsaraceno, the charming 'heart-shaped village', a stop on the CAI Italia trail, and stretches to a rocky spur between the slopes of Monte Raparo and Monte Castelveglia. It is a true symbolic threshold: on one side the village, on the other a world of woods, trails and unspoilt nature, ready to be discovered.

Thanks to the side tie rods that ensure its stability even on the windiest days, and an automated access system with certified harnesses, the Tibetan Bridge is open every day and is designed to be enjoyed safely by everyone: families, hikers, groups of friends and visitors of all ages.
