Length: 5.8 km
Elevation gain: 20
Elevation loss: 20
Family-friendly itinerary

Discover the Agri River Park on a pleasant flat loop that crosses the countryside of Paterno, suitable for everyone.

The short route starts from the cycle path on Via Giustino Fortunato, on the outskirts of Paterno, and enters the Agri River Park: a paved track that follows the river for 5.8 km, some sections of which are for exclusive use. The rural road, which is straight until it crosses to the opposite bank of the river, allows you to immerse yourself in the magnificent river vegetation of ancient Akiris and discover its rich biodiversity, just a stone's throw from the village. Along the way, you can observe species such as the grey heron and the woodpecker, listen to the wind in the poplars, alders, oaks and willows, encounter wild plants such as horsetail, old man's beard, mint and borage, and taste blackberries and other wild fruits. Paterno is a welcoming village marked by numerous waterways and the monumental Sorgitora Spring, located on the road leading to Campania and the Via Silente, the cycle route that crosses the Cilento Vallo di Diano Park with a stop in Padula, just 16 km from Paterno.
