From the shores of Lake Pertusillo to Spinoso, the village overlooking the lake, and from there to Sarconi and Moliterno, a journey of great taste among excellent products and works of art.
The route starts from the SP7 at the junction with the Meridiana Cycle Route, between San Martino d'Agri and Montemurro, very close to Lake Pertusillo, at 626 m. From here, it continues on the SP7 with slight ups and downs, crossing a pleasant stretch shaded by a young oak forest. At km 2.5, you reach the lower part of Spinoso on Via San Rocco, where you will find the church of the same name with a splendid Holy Family by the painter Michele Tedesco, which is well worth seeing, together with the well-preserved historic centre with its historic buildings and important churches. From here, the route continues almost flat in a south-westerly direction towards Sarconi, which is reached at km 13.4, where a break is a must to see the magnificent Cavour Aqueduct and also, if possible, to taste the thousand varieties of Sarconi IGP beans. From here, the route continues towards Moliterno, which can be clearly seen high up on the left. After passing the Val d'Agri provincial road at km 14.9 (658 m), the climb begins, leading in about 2.5 km to Via Roma, the main street of the village famous for its 'canestrato', a sublime pecorino cheese, and the Aiello Museums with important collections of modern and contemporary art. This town is the birthplace not only of the painter Michele Tedesco, but also of important figures linked to the Risorgimento, such as Giacomo Racioppi and Ferdinando Petruccelli della Gattina.
